TATTOOED LEATHER APRON (LIMITED EDITION)

This Witloft exclusive leather apron was created in collaboration with tattoo artist Schiffmacher. It is fully covered with a tattoo by the hand of Schiffmacher. The design tells its own unique story. Based on the beginning of the meat culture, the preparation and conservation of it by ancient tribes.

“Barbacoa” tells the story of the beginning of barbecuing among native people in Central America. Initially this was done underground with large pieces of meat or whole animals that lay cooking on coals for days. Later, Barbacoa became not only a way of cooking, but an art style with unique shapes and silhouettes.

All aprons are designed for (home) cooks, barista’s, craftsmen and people who are not afraid to get their hands dirty. Although it’s also the perfect must have for grill masters. Superior to linen and cotton, leather is heat-resistant which makes it perfect for tending the BBQ.

LEATHER CARE:

Witloft developed a special and unique coating which is used on most of our aprons. It protects the leather against stains, dirt and even the worst scratches. It also makes food or dirt easy to wipe off with a damp cloth. The coating makes the leather a bit stiff in the beginning, but will quickly soften with use. The Witloft apron is made to last and will take on its own unique characteristics over time. The aprons are good for use in a heated environment such as BBQ or grill and will protect you.

When you’re not using your apron, hang it or roll it, don’t fold to ensure no lines or cracks will appear in it.
